Manchester United are said to be interested in making a move for the English duo of Harry Maguire and Sean Longstaff according to reports from England.
Maguire is considered the best defender in the England national team setup and was close to making the switch to United last season before the move was called off by Leicester.
It is understood that Leicester are not willing to sell the player but could sell if the club meets their valuation of £80 million. There had been reports that Manchester United had agreed a deal in principle worth an initial £60 million plus £20 million in bonuses and add-ons. However this has not been confirmed by any of the club sources.
Maguire is an upgrade to the current options at Old Trafford and could form an excellent partnership with Victor Lindelof in the heart of the defence. Meanwhile the pursuit of Newcastle midfielder Sean Longstaff continues despite Newcastle insistence on a transfer fee of £30 million.
United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is a fan of the defensive midfielder and has urged the club chiefs to bring the player to Old Trafford this summer. Longstaff is also evaluating his situation after the exit of manager Rafael Benitez this summer and is open to a switch to United this summer.
United are said to be preparing a bid of £25 million as they look to intensify their efforts to sign the midfielder this summer. It remains to be seen whether the club would be able to sign both players this summer.
